Is the title in referral to "The Last Unicorn?" c: God, it's such a lovely piece. I'd be honored to have it in my collection - the horn looks so delicate. Is it crystal or glass?
Yes, the title is referring to The Last Unicorn Thank you so much! And the horn is actually cast from a clear resin (which makes it much more durable than crystal or glass )
Ohoho, a TLU fan as well? Simply lovely movie - the soundtrack is gorgeous and the art is visually stunning.
Oh darn! I couldn't think of what it was called! xD Gosh, I'd still be so nervous to use it for anything! What's the actual unicorn's body made out of?
They don't make quality unicorns like this anymore - such immense detailing.
Yep, I remember seeing the film when I was very young and I immediately fell in love with it because of the creature designs (I'm a bit of an animal and monster-lover)
I'm actually not sure what the unicorn's body is made out of, but if I had to guess it feels like a mixture of crushed marble and resin (I've worked with those materials before and it feels very similar - the texture and the weight).
Unfortunately, there are no markings or branding on it to signify who produced it, and I've had this figure for a very long time. I've been trying to figure out which company produced it, or even who the artist might be, but no such luck (yet). If I ever find out though, I can definitely let you know
The unicorns in the movie is simply stunning. It's the design I based my own horse character off of c:
The texture for the fur looks very delicate - I'm wondering if it was hand carved or machine made; It's hard to tell.
I saw that! I sure hope you find the company that produced it - I have a unicorn with a vary similar style... Maybe it's from the same company? Sad thing is - I don't know where the little fella came from either! Hahaha, what a world!
no, I didn't make this sculpture myself. I've actually had this sculpture for about 15 years and there are no labels or markings on it to indicate what company made it. I've actually been wondering who made the original sculpt myself...
