Shelter from the rain

Wow. There is a strong presence in this photo, and it simply must be due to how well the image captures the mammalian aspects of this animal. The wings are wrapped around it with a texture like plastic, and the eyes are both vacant and thoughtful…intentional. Married to a hint of a smile and a rainy environment, this feels almost like a creature Fox Mulder might find dangling beneath a fire escape in a derelict alley deep within the darkness of a big city. It's more than a rat with wings here. It's a plotting, evil thing, wrapt with beauty and mystique. A job well done.
