**Whirl! The amazing bob-tailed Amur Tiger :)
Whirl does not have a tail because when she was a young cub, her father
attacked her and damaged her tail beyond repair so it had to be amputated.
Do not be sad for Whirl though!  She does not seem to notice!  In fact, she is
the most energetic and happy tiger I have witnessed in captivity :)

Great image!  Insane energy seems to be a trait of all nubbed felines - my little manx mix is the same way.  :giggle:

It's so great the zoo (? does she live in a zoo?) kept her!
I'm a volunteer at a Sanctuary for big cats and they once had a tiger with a "bob tail" as well. She belonged to a circus where her cage mate bit off her tail and the circus didn't want her any more. She never seemed to notice her missing tail either and was a happy tiger at the Sanctuary! Loved by all the visitors :)

Lovely photo but a touching story. A role model for all of those of abusive childhoods. They should really if she is so energetic try to get her as a Spokesmodel for abused children.
