I actually shot this at the Brookfield Zoo ;)

But in mid-March, there was a family of Bald Eagles out at Starved Rock (I imagine they've moved on by now though).

They come through Missouri every year too. Sometimes you can get a chance to see a wild eagle. Kinda cool.

Yeah, it's very cool to be able to see them in the wild. About 10 years ago, they were more common in IL, but due to the human population growing in the town I live in, most larger wildlife species have left the area (including the eagles).
